BLAME! IS BEING RETRANSLATED HERE!

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING BELOW FOR GRANTED!

Page 85
And with that, what about their part of the system....?
Considering that image, Killy's safety equipment is related. One can accept this hypothesis, but the matter of being reborn makes it incomprehendable.
The stranded fish was a suitable transformation. There is probably a connection between Iko and the fish arriving, and the time anomaly in the Unofficial Level.
The gravity obstacle and the time anomaly certainly caused the world to go crazy. So it is not strange that these transformations happened.
The Coelacanth of the present day is a kind of living fossil. If a Builder brought it up from somewhere, it's not that strange, but.....
Speaking of Builders bringing things, what about that capsul that Dhomochevsky was walking around with?
It's the transformation of Killy's book from the beginning.
Naturally. the Builders probably brought it up from somewhere.

[Level 9]
So it happened that Daphine Lu Linvega failed at a temporary connection.
Cibo also went through the same experience. It seems to be that Daphine Lu was killed by the High Level Safeguard's extermination system as the connection device broke down.
However, because the world was in such need of it, the defenseless Cibo tried. But her circumstances were not very good.
Daphine Lu had the appropriate circumstances, with a powerful support squadron as backup. They might have driven the extermination system away.
But despite that, the goal was not achieved anyway. It was necessary for Daphine Lu to use Seu's genes.
What was this Daphine Lu's objective anyway?
Mainly, the Silicon Life and Governing Agency are without doubt, unfriendly toward eachother. But really, it can't be translated into antagonism just because of this unfriendly facade.
(On the other hand, the Safeguard have a real relationship of total conflict with the Governing Agency. As seen from the story itself, with the virus and the vaccine, there is definitely that relationship.)
The Governing Agency care about the humans in the world------ Wether or not that's true, they bear the responsibility of authority over them. The Silicon Life, who do not have any access privaledges, are not in their interests.
If the governed world was tampered with, the Silicon Life would be exterminated and the Safeguards would come after them.
On the other hand, the Governing agency wanted to revive the perfect governing of the Netsphere, but I don't think that the Silicon Life wanted to totally erradicate the Governing Agency.
If the situation kept going the way it did, the Net would go down completely and it would probably be impossible for the Sillicon Life to go on living.
So, why did Daphine Lu want so terribly to gain access to the Governing Agency? In the end, at the risk of it's life, was it's goal to capture the Level 9?
And, what did the Level 9 want?
As the story unfolds, Cibo's desire was reflected (?), by the Governing Agency's Access Privalege being granted and the gift of the secret sphere to the Level 9.
It was in a different battle when the capture and taking of that womb took place, but that was not Daphine Lu's original objective.
Daphine Lu probably just wanted the pure battle power of the Level 9.
The results might be a display of Daphine Lu's lack of foresight.
There might be anti-Safeguard research employees, and the strength of that might be within the hierarchy of the Silicon Life.
And on to the next question.
About the strength of the Level 9.
Mainly, what kind of weapons does it have?
I'll give you three hints.
First, (even better than Killy's gun) it is the Ultimate Weapon (But it can't be controlled very easily).
Destructive heat spreads out from the face.
A blast from Killy's gun cannot break through it.
By the way, out of however many Ultimate Weapons things there are in BLAME!, the only one that compares to the Level 9 is Mensaab's transfer.
(It's true that this comes after the transfer happened.)
I really think that this weapon was transmitted from another world.
Assuming that that's true, I wonder if it came from the surface of the sun.
Anyway, no one can oppose it.

[About the Conversion Tower's electric power, again.]
In the Unofficial Level volume, Dhomochevsky and Iko talk in the beginning about the insufficient electric power. That is, they have problems with the lack of efficient energy, so they use "mono"((katakana....?)) without permission.
The Conversion Tower, which is the source of electricity, was being hacked into by the Silicon Life during the battle. Iko lost to the skills of Daphine Lu.
By the way, the BLAME! world is a flawless "Yubiktus"((??Katakana? If anyone has any idea what this term could be, Email me: Iernan@aol.com.)) World.
Since there is no interface, freedom is restricted. But everything from gravity to the atmosphere is completely dependant on the workings of the Net as nothing is natural.
So, that is why Killy's weapon needs electric power.
But, when there is a problem in the Unofficial Level, he shoots.
Why....?
The absense of the use of Killy's gun has become rather apparent since the time that its energy supply was cut off.
Except for when he was dispatching enemies.
In the Electric Life Company volume, the beam from the gun twisted with magical super powers.
Perhaps this was because of a gravity interference.....?
It seems as though Cibo's research facility might have been the cause of this kind of interference.
In the end, the Silicon Life also took over the Electric Life Company before that point blank hit.
It also looks like Sanakan let loose a few instantly discharged beam shots.
Somehow because of the gravity particle utilization, it's possible to counteract the weapon.
It wasn't used in Toha Heavy Industries because the software wasn't available.
With that, it can be understood that Killy's gun relies on the OS of the Netsphere.
As for Safeguards, are they naturally born with weapons?
Anyway, Iko was able to hack into Killy's gun in an instant and gain control of it.
The gun is a unique object not to be used recklessly. It is entirely used with software, although that's not the reason that it's so special.
((Sorry for the lack of updates. The reason is entirely due to my lack of a computer and THIS kanji! What the fuck is this thing? I can't find it in any dictionary. If anyone can help me, please do! Or at least, what is the radical for that middle mass of strokes? I probably wrote it totally wrong. If you just take a glance at the pages I'm attempting to translate, you'll know why. Any non-Japanese person would have to be crazy to try to translate it! Anyway, I guess I'll try translating the rest.... I give up on this crazy kanji.))
When at the point of ???? during the removal of the pressure ban, energy was taken away because of the extermination system. Built-in software for the gun's energy source used the pressure ban removal but was unable to retrieve any amount of energy.
Attention must be paid to this, as during this time, the supply of energy was sent through Killy's body.
In short, the energy of the gun went through Killy's body.
Sometimes another person uses the gun, but the gun's built in supply only shoots out a portion of the energy. If it's cut off, the person becomes unable to shoot, like Killy already found out once before.
Looking back at the volume about Toha Heavy Industries, Cibo had the ability to use her "anti-magnetic cocoon."
In one word, it's "bullet-proof" ((Note, in Japanese this is one word that says something like "weapon-usage-ban." I figure "bulletproof" makes for a more sensible translation.)). The Safeguard-proofing works the same way, as they both use simple software. The software works like a flag standing alone and because of that, the checker is removed and the software creates a safe place.
When Cibo was in the Electric Life Company, she used an anti-electric aplication which involved an electro-magnetic area shield. This had the same arrangment as the bullet-proof shield.
Cibo made an anti-magnetic cocoon on the grounds that at some point Killy would come and would be able to use his gun.
But more directly, she thought of Sanakan's counter plan.
Back to the story and the topic of the necessary Transfer Tower. Was there no backup electric source?
Perhaps the BLAME! world's environment was able to maintain its foundation because of an electric power supply within the megastructure. Basically, the system would have these electric power parts build into it.
Without that, if something wild happened to the gravity controls, the would would collapse.
Because of that, another course of the necessary electric power would start up from software.
Poor Dhomochevsky and Iko. The software didn't start up by itself for them and they became hindered by the Silicon Life and their eightfold fortress. ((I'm not sure if this is referring to 8 members of the S.L. or maybe Cave 8?))
It was one more thing where Killy got into trouble.
Killy's gun's ranking in energy supply has undoubtable correspondance to his own high rank. When he's in a tight spot, he's able to use the power in the foundation to shoot. Bam, bam!

[About Individuals part 3/ Mori]
Sanakan, Dhomochevsky, and Iko had gallant last moments in comparison to other people who come and go in BLAME!.
The level of bravery in an individual might be based on a the primal instinct to pass on their genes.
This is why released Silicon Life are always comfortably consciencious of their existence.
This is why Zulu made samples of people's remains.
This is why Mensaab/Seu group went into the opening in time.
A Beautiful Life Clone. ((No idea what Nihei's alluding to here.. Does anyone else know?))
All of that may be correct but an AI is straightforeward.
In the last part, Killy's partner, the emergency storage pack, is alive and continues on. She is called Mori.... A struggle.
The emergency storage pack is like when Cibo resided in the body of Sanakan.
Surely she was aware of the emergency and produced a cylinder shaped thing with her memories.
But what data was entered inside of it?
According to one idea, one person's data takes up about two terabytes.
How is that calculated?
I wonder if it has to do with the molecular structure.
If that's true, then in their world that size is sufficient.
Cibo has to migrate her soul time and time again. Because of this, her foundational data has become smaller.
In comparison, Mori's emergency storage pack is huge!
But since its performance is not always the same, is that size estimate too large?
Since in the end, multiple individuals were written over eachother, one cannot say if the capacity is large or not.
Also, it is an eternal riddle about wether Mori is the name of the first girl who used it, or the creator's name.
And the person (man?) who wrote over the girl's original personality is another thing we'll never know.
But, Sanakan, again, is in a comparible situation and is sensible to the troubles of life.

[About Individuals - Final Section/ Administrators of the Netsphere]
Why did the Governing Agency give the proxy organism a personality?
It was just to make it more user friendly. Would either way have been fine?
The reason is because of the production of especially sophisticated Safeguards and their usage of Anti-Silicon Life weapons. Once they were granted individuality that could never be extinguished, but this became rather inconvenient.
So then......... You know what happened.
The Governing Agency itself by no means has any personality.
Through this sort of operation, without the limits of functional priorities, they sometimes fail.
But again, if they carelessly granted personalities there would be a certain case of Logic Contradiction.
Human companionship is something people desire.
And, this kind of human companionship is the only one provided by the interface. It is the Governing Agency's "window officer" personality and it is the only being which is continued as an individual personality.
He (or she) perhaps has no real essence.
Sometimes in base reality when a proxy organism is downloaded, the copied individual is granted personality.
The thing's origin
This being is continued for a long time.
After a long time, the personalities pile up on eachother in layers.
This is not the intention..............
Sanakan's past may have been this way as well.

((The next section is a list of references Nihei used in BLAME!. This has been put up other places by other people so I'll just do a brief paraphrasing translation of the name origins.))

"Great Sky River" - Name origin for Cibo ((It's not listed, but Nihei got Killy and Sanakan from here as well.))
"FEERSUM ENDJIN" - Netsphere
"Ad Baad" ((Not sure on this, the katakana is ado baado and I've never read the book. The author is Japanese, it appears.)) - Tet and Zulu
"Dead Girls" and "Dead Boys" - Ivy and Maeve
"Kirinyaga" - Mensaab
