Just some helpful anatomy things now. Anatomy makes the world go round.
The neck is only as long as the blood vessels can go from behind your ears to the collar bone. The first image here shows this. The two heads beside it show the same concept gone horribly wrong.

A wrong face won't look so bad stylized, but when you think about where the body parts actually are, you can see how it doesn't really make sense. Again, rules can be broken, but it works better when you learn how to follow the rules to begin with before deviating.
If you're copying something, you have to think about what the artist was actually seeing when he drew the lines.

These eyes may look easy for anyone to do.


But looking at other eyes the same artist has done, you know he's got a really good concept of exactly what is going on with eyes and eyelids and skin and lashes and bones and muscles.
Another thing people commonly mess up on are wings.
In general, when drawing animals, it's helpful to study the skeletal structure breifly before attempting it.
Hands are also hard to draw, so draw a pair of them every day from now until forever, so that you get better.
